Visit to Potomac Consolidated TRACON

Despite the fact that my allergies were flaring up and it was about a two-hour trip each way, I decided to visit the place where all the air traffic controllers for the DC-Maryland-Northern Virginia area are based. It was a limited opportunity to tour the facility and only pilots got the privilege. The FAA was being nice to the General Aviation community. The facility was very impressive and their presentation and Q&A session was quiet helpful. In addition we were escorted into the controllers area to see the big room where all the areas air traffic is handled. It was cool to feel like a VIP and have access into the restricted area.
