All I want for Christmas...

...is a Private Pilot Certificate. I am so close to finishing up. I really only have two things left to do. One of them is my long cross country flight. The other is the checkride. The weather gods have put a curse upon me and kept me grounded. I could have had the cross country done around the end of November or beginning of December if not for the weather. As it is I have a flight scheduled with another instructor as a mock checkride to see if I am actually ready. That's scheduled for Friday. If that goes OK then it's just a matter of getting two days of good weather that work with my schedule and the flight examiner's. As it stands now I have only about a nine day window before Christmas and a six day window afterwards before the new year. Technically I have until my Student Pilot Certificate expires, but I want to get it done and be able to fly with friends and family sooner than that. All I can do is hope for good weather and make sure my flying skills are up to the challenge.
