Early Evening Solo to Ridgely

Today I got some solo time for a change. I hadn't flown alone, other than in the pattern, for a while. Things just worked out so that I was alone today.I planned my late afternoon flight to take me out to Ridgely Airpark where I would land and do one or two turns in the pattern and then head back to Tipton. The weather was excellent and the early evening sun was something new for me. I got over to Ridgely and overflew the field at 2000ft. only to find no one in the pattern. As I descended to land and turned from base to final to land on Runway 12 I could see a large tractor cutting the grass in the field between Oakland Road and the runway threshold. With my back to the sun the large black shadow of my aircraft came from my left side and met me as I touched down on the runway. And through I could find no evidence of it in any guide, it felt like there is a dip near the beginning of runway 12. I say this because my first landing was a bounce and to avoid porpoising I needed to make it a touch and go. I made two more landings before exiting the pattern and making a slow sweeping turn to the West as I climbed to 3000ft. to head home. As you can see from the picture, I needed to use the glareshield to see as I headed back to the Western Shore.
Once out over the bay and into the ADIZ I spied some freighters that had been sitting there waiting to make the trip up into Baltimore Harbor or points North.
With Annapolis off to my right I headed for the mouth of the South River, Lee Airport, and the two bridges that cross the river, for my trip back up toward Fort Meade. The air was relatively calm as I made my way back at 1400Ft. to avoid the BWI airspace. I was able to snap some pics of the Eastport area of Annapolis and even a self portrait before I had to turn my attention to the approach and landing at Tipton. After I secured the airplane I couldn't resist taking some more pics as the sun set on the airfield. What a great way to spend an evening!
