Today it was time for me to do some maneuvering flight in preparation for my practical test. I had never performed any of these maneuvers without a flight instructor on board and I was just a little nervous. I remembered my training, especially that an aircraft doesn't spin if it's coordinated in flight.
So off I went. The menu was slow flight, steep turns, a power off stall, and then the traffic pattern. I was too high on my first final so I also got to do a forward slip to landing. During the time when I was turning Approach Control called me up and asked if I was doing "airwork." I was probably looking a little odd on the radar scope. I assured them that I was practicing and made sure that they saw no traffic in my area.
My plan is to fly my long cross country on Wednesday. I really need to get my written test done also.
