After what has seemed like forever I have received a reply from the FAA. The news was good. I have been granted a Second Class Medical Certificate under a Special Issuance. They are still keeping up the pressure about my medical and requiring me to reapply in a year instead of the normal three and or two year reapplication process.
What it means is that I am grounded no more and free to fly again and work towards a solo. My next flight is on August 8th. I only hope I can knock out all the rust that has formed and fly properly. My next step is to get myself a DUATs logon so that I can file flight plans online.
